Management of ETJ

Decision Making
Decision-making within ETJ is generally decentralized. The leaders of each ETJ project are encouraged to run projects independently and to be responsive to the members of their groups.
ETJ Coordinators Group
Project leaders are also members of the ETJ-Coordinators group which, although it is often inactive and generally acts in an advisory capacity, is the ultimate decison-making body for all aspects of ETJ except the areas for which Language Teaching Professionals has responsibility (see below). The ETJ-Coordinators group has the authority to make general ETJ policies within the areas for which it has responsibility, approve new ETJ projects, and get involved in the internal affairs of each ETJ project, especially when asked to do so by the project leader or members of the project, or when it considers that a special situation has arisen.
Relationship with Language Teaching Professionals
Language Teaching Professionals is the legal entity for ETJ, and is responsible for sponsoring ETJ and deciding on arrangements with other sponsors/businesses, for the general administration of ETJ, for mailings and nationwide marketing, and for protecting and keeping membership data. Language Teaching Professionals also owns and runs the ETJ Book Service. In a similar way, Jobsinjapan.com owns and runs the ETJ Job Service. All other aspects of ETJ are under the authority of the ETJ Coordinators group.
Becoming an ETJ Coordinator
There are regional ETJ groups in many areas of Japan and these groups arrange online and physical workshops for teachers in the area. If you would like to attend or present in a local workshop, please contact your local ETJ group.
