My Family

Use with Happy Valley 3 Unit 6


Teacher shows a picture of their family (great if it shows the teacher as a kid). Introduce the different people using the target language. Ask students’ parents to bring a picture of their family members. Otherwise, they can draw a picture with Mom or Dad at home and use that instead of real pictures. Help students introduce their family. Each class students should become more confident to say their family members.


先生は生徒に自分の家族の写真を見せます。(その写真が子供の頃の先生だと最高です。) TLを使って写っている人を紹介します。生徒の保護者に家族写真を持ってくるようにお願いします。無理な場合は、家で親と一緒に絵を描いてもらい、写真の代わりに使ってください。生徒が家族を紹介する手助けをしてあげましょう。レッスンを重ねるごとに家族のことを言う自信がついてくるはずです。


What’s Taro Doing?

Use with Happy Valley 3 Unit 7


Similar to charades, students pick an instrument flashcard and mime playing it. For example, S1 chooses the (piano) flashcard and pretends to play the piano.

T: What’s (Taro) doing?

S2: Playing the piano.

Repeat until all students have a chance.


Charadesの様に、生徒が楽器のフラッシュカードを選び、それを演奏しているふりをします。 例えば、S1は(piano)のフラッシュカードを選び、ピアノを弾いているふりをします。

S2: Playing the piano.
